Think of all of all music ever created by humans.

The drumming and singing around a fire.

The playing together at the end of a shift at a factory.

The entertaining the royals.

The opera, the rock, the semba…

What if all of that was just the first part of music?

A group of musicians is proposing just that. To (lovingly) archive what has been done, turn the page, and propel the beginning of

Music, Part Two

A dumb premise of Sisyphean proportions. A dada-ish, clown-ish theatrical show, over a bed of experimental music.

But what is it, really?

The show is based on the premise of attempting to create new music.

It comes in two variants: theatre/club or bookstore/cafe. Both variants can be played in a variety of settings. The show just gets better with difficulties, challenges and mistakes.

At the centre of the performance there’s a table, populated by an assortment of electronic and acoustic sound-producing devices, some of them musical instruments.

Most of the performances are discussed prior to the show via voice messages. Excerpts of the messages are played during the performance, to help the audience understand what the hell the players are trying to do.

It has a variable cast, but is mostly performed by a cast of four. Two of the performers have assigned roles – one handles the story, the other handles the audience.

Ah yes, there is audience participation. They wouldn’t be able to create new music without the help of the audience for whom they’re creating said music.

Often, the cast is joined by the participants of a workshop on music creativity held in the same premisses earlier.
