OPEN-PARTICIPATION SHOWS
These shows are free to watch! And you don’t need a ticket! However, space is limited, and if you have a ticket, you’ll be admitted first.
You can also participate in these shows. They’re based on jamming on stage, while following certain rules. They’re a lot of fun and a great way to meet new musicians.
Gameshow!
See musicians improvise while attempting to play by the rules of our games – all in the name of fun and creative music. The contestants will have to create new music on the spot, while following the rules explained by the Gameshow hosts.
(just for logistics & preparation)
Lucky Duos
A group of musicians puts their name in a hat. Then two names are picked at a time, and those two musicians have to improvise a duet. So simple and so unexpected 😁

CIRCUIT-BENDING WORKSHOP
Would you like to hack a radio to make it a synthesizer? If the answer is “yes”, join us and we’ll find out how to make alien music out of it.
In this workshop, each participant will have the opportunity to create a basic “circuit bending” project. The main aim of this class is to show how it’s possible to craft electronic instruments with minimal financial investment and without extensive technical expertise.
Francesco will provide radio kits which we will then hack to create surprising sounds. In the process, you will learn skills of upcycling an old radio and some old audio electronics and turn them into a music instrument. If you have your own radio you’d like to hack, bring it along!
Schedule
- 16:30 to 17:00 Talk with Fra
- 17:30 to 18:00 Workshop
- Dinner break
- 19:00 to 19:30 Workshop
- 19:30 to 20:00 Final jam
About the teacher
Francesco Zedde (b. 1993, Italy) is a multimedia artist based in the Netherlands. His curiosity is often driven by societal and metalinguistic questions, and much of his work centers on the idea of the musical event as a social practice, employing DIY methods of organization and creation. This commitment began with playing and organizing concerts and later expanded into diverse creative fields, including hacking, circuit bending, augmented instruments, and interactive installations. In his practice, the use of obsolete and discarded materials holds both rhetorical significance and political weight, serving as a stance of resistance against corporate production and consumerism.

BEYOND THE JAM
Who are these humans? What music is this? Who are we even? These and other questions will be answered in Beyond The Jam, our talk show about creating music and working in the music industry. As the opener of our Festival, this show will act as a preamble to all the fun madness that will happen next. The entrance is free, and if you come, you’ll be giving so many insights into what is going to happen in the other shows, that will make you smile as you see the incredulous faces of the audience who missed this.
VENUES
Our shows on December 14th will be held at CINETOL, a bonafide cool venue right by the Amstel. Accessible from Amstel station and metro stops.
The events of December 13th will be held at PARLOUR AMSTERDAM, an amazing community-oriented space right at the core of De Pijp. Accessible by tram, or by metro (stop De Pijp).
