All the info below!

This September 13th, from 15:00 to 18:00, we’re excited to bring back to you a circuit-bending workshop, once again led by Francesco Zedde, known on stage as Fra Zedde, who featured as a very special guest of Fest 2025.

Would you like to hack a radio to make it a synthesizer? If the answer is “yes”, join us and we’ll find out how to make alien music out of it.

In this workshop, each participant will have the opportunity to create a basic “circuit bending” project. The main aim of this class is to show how it’s possible to craft electronic instruments with minimal financial investment and without extensive technical expertise.

About the teacher

Francesco Zedde (b. 1993, Italy) is a multimedia artist based in the Netherlands. His curiosity is often driven by societal and metalinguistic questions, and much of his work centers on the idea of the musical event as a social practice, employing DIY methods of organization and creation. This commitment began with playing and organizing concerts and later expanded into diverse creative fields, including hacking, circuit bending, augmented instruments, and interactive installations. In his practice, the use of obsolete and discarded materials holds both rhetorical significance and political weight, serving as a stance of resistance against corporate production and consumerism.

A bonafide player in the international underground music scene, the artist of Italian origin has a career that perfectly matches the values of Jam With Humans: from combining music, visuals and theatrical concepts in projects such as TONTO and Tacet Tacet Tacet, to putting diversity at the foreground of his curation in the long-running series of shows Discomfort Dispatch.

In the workshop, Fra will show attendees how to turn a radio into a working synthesiser, hacking everyday electronics into instruments of their own. He will also provide radio kits which we will then hack to create surprising sounds. In the process, you will learn skills of upcycling an old radio and some old audio electronics and turn them into a music instrument. If you have your own radio you’d like to hack, bring it along!

The tickets for this workshop will be €50,00. Make sure to save your spot!
